Personal Data Protection Policy

These principles take into account international standards for personal data protection and the appropriate technical and organizational measures required to protect the rights and freedoms of individuals in accordance with REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, which repeals Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), and Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on Personal Data Protection and on the Amendment and Supplementation of Certain Acts (hereinafter referred to as the "Personal Data Protection Act"), effective from 25 May 2018.

Basic Rights of the Data Subject

The data subject has the right to request from the data controller access to their personal data, the right to rectify personal data, the right to erase personal data, the right to restrict the processing of personal data, the right to object to the processing of personal data, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent (if consent is the legal basis for processing), and the right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic. statny.dozor@pdp.gov.sk.

The individual rights of the data subject, their application, and limitations are regulated in Chapter III of the General Data Protection Regulation and in Sections 19 to 30 of the Personal Data Protection Act. The data controller adheres to all conditions for personal data protection and informs data subjects of their rights in a simplified form in these principles.

A data subject is a natural person whose personal data is being processed.

Principles of Personal Data Processing

When processing personal data, the data controller adheres to the principles outlined in Article 5 of the General Data Protection Regulation and Sections 6 to 12 of the Personal Data Protection Act

  • lawfulness, fairness, and transparency: personal data is processed only in a lawful manner, fairly, and transparently in relation to the data subject,
  • purpose limitation: personal data is collected for specific, explicit, and legitimate purposes, and further processing can only occur for archiving purposes in the public interest, for scientific or historical research purposes, or for statistical purposes in accordance with Article 89(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation.
  • mdata minimization: personal data is collected only to the extent that is necessary, relevant, and limited to what is required for the purposes for which it is processed
  • scorrect: the data controller has taken measures to ensure that inaccurately processed data, in relation to the purpose, is promptly deleted or corrected (updated)

  • integrity and trust: the data controller processes personal data in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorized or unlawful processing and accidental loss, destruction, or damage, using appropriate technical or organizational measures
  • laccountability: the data controller is responsible for adhering to the principles of personal data processing and is obliged to demonstrate this compliance with the principles of personal data processing upon request to the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic

Lawfulness of Processing

The data controller processes personal data in accordance with Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation and Section 13 of the Personal Data Protection Act only on the basis of at least one of the following legal grounds:

  1. the data subject has given consent to the processing of their personal data for one or more specific purposes;
  2. the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract;
  3. the processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the data controller is subject;
  4. the processing is necessary in order to protect the vital interests of the data subject or another natural person;
  5. the processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the data controller;
  6. the processing is necessary for the purposes of legitimate interests pursued by the data controller or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data, especially if the data subject is a child.

Conditions for Processing with Consent

If the processing of personal data is based on the consent of the data subject, the data controller archives such consent for the duration of the data retention period. If the data controller requests consent for the processing of personal data from the data subject, this consent is distinguished from other matters and is expressed clearly and in an understandable and easily accessible form. The data subject has the right to withdraw their consent to the processing of personal data concerning them at any time. However, the data controller explicitly notes that the withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of data processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Purpose of Processing Personal Data through the Website

Through the website, the data controller processes personal data for the purpose of contacting individuals who have signed up via the contact form. The legal basis for processing personal data is the consent of the data subject in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation. The categories of personal data processed are: name, surname, email, and phone number. The data is not subject to transfer to other countries.
