Reservation

Activities I offer — hiking, peak ascents, team-building events, and others (hereinafter activities) can be booked via the contact form, email, or phone. If you contact me via the form or email, you will receive a confirmation email with all details about the reservation and payment. The reservation becomes binding upon payment of a deposit of 100 % of the total amount. You will be informed by email about confirmation and receipt of payment.

Cancellation

  • If a reserved activity is cancelled due to my fault, you will receive a 100 % refund.
  • If the activity is cancelled in advance due to bad weather, you may choose an alternative date.
  • If the activity is cancelled due to bad weather and you agree to an alternative date, but prices have changed in the meantime, the difference for the new price will be charged.
  • If you cancel the activity 1, 2, or 3 days before it takes place, you forfeit the right to a refund.

Cancellation fees

  • If you change the date more than twice, an administrative fee of €20 will be charged for each additional change.
  • If you cancel the activity 3 days before the start outside the main season and 7 days before the start during the main season (1 June to 31 October), an administrative fee of 100 % of the total price applies.
  • If I arrive at the meeting point but the activity does not proceed, an administrative fee of €30 applies.
  • If I arrive at accommodation (hut, etc.) but the activity is cancelled, an administrative fee of €50 applies.
  • If the activity is cancelled due to the client’s insufficient fitness or technical preparedness, an administrative fee of 100 % of the total price applies.
  • For corporate team-building, if the company sends a binding order and cancels 10 days before the start, an administrative fee of 50 % of the total price applies.
  • For a lecture, if the company sends a binding order and cancels 10 days before the start, an administrative fee of 50 % of the total price applies.

Gift voucher

A gift voucher is valid for 1 year from purchase. The validity cannot be extended. The recipient may choose a suitable available date after agreement with me. After expiry the voucher is invalid and the paid amount is not refunded. The buyer must inform the recipient of these terms.

Large group activities

If a customer or company reserves multiple guides (depending on group size) for a specific date, pricing is handled individually.

Insurance

Mountain Joy includes insurance for mountain rescue in Slovakia in the activity price. For activities outside Slovakia, you must arrange insurance yourself.

Safety during the activity

Movement in high mountain terrain can be dangerous and the risk of injury from objective hazards (falling rocks, etc.) cannot be fully eliminated.

  • You must inform me before the activity of any health issues that could affect it (heart problems, asthma, epilepsy, etc.) and acknowledge that you participate at your own risk.
  • I reserve the right to adjust the number of participants for an activity at any time due to unexpected weather or difficult conditions.
  • I reserve the right to cancel the entire activity if a client is not sufficiently fit or technically prepared and thereby endangers the group.
  • The minimum age for children is 8 years. The child must be in good physical condition.
  • I reserve the right to change the activity location at any time due to unsuitable conditions or high avalanche risk.
  • I reserve the right to cancel the activity at any time due to unsuitable conditions.
  • All activities are conducted in accordance with the visitor regulations of the respective national parks.
